i’m engaged! (yay!) what should my timeline be for ordering + sending my wedding stationery?

we recommend mailing your “save the date” cards six to twelve months prior to your wedding date to allow your guests ample time to plan their travel. wedding invitations should be mailed 8 to 10 weeks prior if your wedding is local or 12 weeks prior for a destination wedding. plan on 4 to 6 week window for your invitations to be created before your mailing date. we love savoring the process with an extra cushion of time as well. why rush through the fun?

where do I start?

first, we recommend going online to schedule a complimentary one hour in-store appointment with Paper Rock Scissor. during your consultation, we can answer your questions, and you can start the fun by browsing our many custom design or stock vendor invitations. we even recommend a consultation for DIYers. we encourage you to bring things to your consultation that have inspired you: color swatches, photographs, magazine tears, anything you have looked at that you love! it will help us create your perfect stationery.

i’m thinking of doing some of my stationery myself. can you help me with certain parts of the process only?

absolutely! we carry a large assortment of paper, envelopes, stamps, ribbon, adhesives and more for you to choose from. Paper Rock Scissor also has many printing options available to you such as digital, offset, thermography and letterpress.

how much do your invitations cost?

custom designs vary in cost, depending on many different factors. we provide you an estimate after we discuss details about your wishes. know that we offer invitations for every budget and also offer discounts if you find yourself wanting to be a little more hands on.

i found the one! the invitation that is… how do I start?

when you find “the one” we will give you an estimate. once you approve the estimate, we ask for a 50% non-refundable deposit to start the project. the next step is for you to email the wording you will use on your invitation. we are happy to help if you find yourself at a loss for words. we then show an electronic proof. custom orders include hard copy proofs as well.
